Rafts Kanchanaburi

Kanchanaburi is famous for its raft houses. You sleep overnight, on a raft, moored along the river bank. There are two major rivers Kwai Yai and Kwai Noi, the big and small Kwae rivers. I'm going to be staying on a raft on each of these.

I'm a little scared, my toddler is a fast runner, and these rivers are fast flowing. I'm going to have to watch her like a hawk.

Obviously I cannot leave her on the raft alone, without a barrier, and none of the rafts have barriers, and she'll have to have some flotation vest if she's on a boat. That was the only real downside to these rafts, the constant fear!

Wang Nok Kaew Raft cost me 2600 baht a night including a very nice buffet evening meal, and breakfast. It was excellent.

Their big raft trip, is a towed raft up the river. It turns around at the top, you jump off, the raft speeds off downstream a couple of kilometres, you drift down in the rapids and frantically swim towards it at the end so as not to miss it!

I was going to let the baby do it in her floats, but quickly changed my mind when I saw how fast the river was. Better safe than sorry. Pappa can look after the baby this time, and he can do this tomorrow.
