Restaurant next to River, Krabi

Well I haven't found a driveable route to Railay beach yet, well at least not with a small road car, I'm pretty sure my scooter could get there. Perhaps when the baby is older, but for now, she will mostly experience meals in fancy restaurants, easily accessible viewpoints, and trips to the beach, which for her means sitting in a beach tent protected from the sun!

I visited a sea shell beach and fossil at Krabi, and quite honestly it was terrible. You had to pay to get to the beach, the guard wasn't there at the entrance, only a little boy who'd been told to refuse everyone till the guard got back. This needs re-thought.

Such a frustrating morning. So to save the day, we decided to find a nice restaurant that serves good fresh seafood next to the sea. Success!

This restaurant is at the end of a road, along a dirt track. We had low expectations for it, but there were some very expensive cars parked outside and it looks popular, so it must be at least OK.

We took a table with a view of the river estuary, and got a little carried away ordering! There are a lot of classic Thai dishes here, and many from the south you won't have heard of. Curry made with stink beans! I could tell this is a proper Thai restaurant and not aimed at tourists.

There's plenty here for the western palate including a long stewed pork stew that's very typical of the south of Thailand, and cake and icecream for the children to eat. Lots of space for strollers, and lots of families were there enjoying the food.

This is a nice restaurant to eat at during the day, you'll need a car or scooter to get here. It's on the map below next to a river.
